Exclusive: Windows Phone 7 Desktop Syncing Software (Video)
Windows Phone 7 will use Zune software to synchronize with your PC. You can use Zune to transfer photos, music, videos, and podcasts. In this video, we show you unreleased version 4.7 of the Zune software that works with Windows Phone. Note that the hardware and software shown in the video are not final.
The Zune software treats the Windows Phone 7 device just like a Zune, so you can even wirelessy sync your device, or do it manually by dragging and dropping content from your library to the picture of your WP7 device in the bottom left corner. You also use Zune to update your phone’s software, or at least that’s how it works now. In the build of Windows Phone 7 that we’ve been testing, you’ll get a pop up notification that an update is available, and that in order to get the update, you must connect with Zune. The update process takes about 15 minutes.
After filming the video, we were able to successfully update the LG Panther development device through Zune to a newer build of Windows Phone 7 (6419), which brings minor changes.
