Announced at the IFA, the Samsung Galaxy Tab, bigger brother to the Samsung Galaxy S, was rumored to arrive to Verizon on September 16.

Some nasty rumors just popped up which might be a deal breaker for some and they’re regarding the price of these new 7 inch tablet devices from the Korean manufacturer. First one talks about 699 euros with tax for the 16GB version which is the equivalent to $895 and that’s the price range for a 32GB 3G iPad, and this is the most gentle of them.

Rumors also include a price tag of 799 euros which translates to $1,025 as well as 680 GBP equaling $1,045. At this price, the Samsung Galaxy Tab might outperform Apple’s most expensive iPad, the 64GB 3G, price-wise. Now we know that European prices are usually higher than US prices and we’ve seen examples in the past of manufacturers applying different price guidelines for different regions for the same product but even if the prices are likely to be decrease once officially quoted, the Samsung Galaxy Tab might have a problem from the very beginning called the Apple iPad it is trying to compete with.
