HTC Smart2 to Land on AT&T as HTC F8181

HTC had announced it was going to venture into the non-smartphone space with its own HTC Smart, a feature phone that uses the Brew MP platform and has Sense UI on top, but no smartphone operating system. The device may be enough to catch U.S. carrier AT&T’s eyes as it seems that Engadget has obtained an HTC model F8181 for the Brew MP-enabled handset that’s supposedly destined for a happy life on AT&T. Not much is known about the F8181 at this time, or whether it will be or resemble the Smart2, but an HTC non-smartphone should offer consumers Internet connectivity sans smartphone data pricing, which could save users who may not need all the advanced features of a smartphone some money over the life of a two-year contract.
