Swype Breaks World Texting Record on Samsung Galaxy S
It looks like the Samsung Galaxy S smartphone has another accolade to add to its trophy collection, this time as the device that makes it quick and fast to type with the on-screen keyboard thanks to the addition of Swype.
Swype allows users to type on their on-screen keyboard by drawing lines across the screen to connect letters without having to lift their finger up from the screen. The keyboard also has autocorrect to guess what you’re trying to type.
Though not formally approved yet by Guiness, Melissa Thompson of England, has texted “The razor-toothed piranhas of the genera Serrasalmus and Pygocentrus are the most ferocious freshwater fish in the world. In reality they seldom attack a human” in just under 26 seconds to become the fastest typer on a phone, breaking the previous record of over 35 seconds. The previous title was held by Franklin Page using the Windows Mobile 6.5 Omnia II.
