Dell Thunder Prototypes Now Out in the Wild

The Dell Thunder Android smartphone, which has been rumored before, is now appearing in some candid photos. The popular consumer electronics blog Engadget has recently been forwarded two early prototypes of the Dell smartphone. The highlight of the 4-inch screen? The curved glass industrial design, which provides a unique design that’s been reserved for more luxury smartphones that rest outside of our budgets. Unfortunately, the design is all about form rather than function, as Engadget notices some distortion produced by the glass curvature, which is rather unfortunate.

There are two versions of the prototype–one for AT&T 3G support, and the other supporting T-Mobile’s AWS HSPA 3G network. There’s also a test suite that promises CDMA support pre-loaded onto the phone, giving hope that Dell’s also eyeing Verizon Wireless and Sprint for a launch. There are also references to a VGA front camera and an 8-megapixel shooter on the back.
