A Total of Fourteen HTC Codenames Rumored
Lots of rumors these days with the upcoming release of the highly anticipated Windows Phone 7. We’ve seen several new device leaks from different manufacturers (HTC, Samsung and Asus) but looks like the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer is leading the board with now fourteen(!) codenames being subject to word of mouth.
HTC Desire HD
We’ve posted about the HTC Desire HD, an Android 2.2 aluminum body device with an 8MP camera. Then we saw a technical specification draft for the HTC Spark, a Windows Phone 7 device with a 1GHz Qualcomm processor with 512 MB of RAM, a 3.7″ WVGA screen, and a 5MP camera. The HTC Mozart was seen in the wild with a unibody design and a 1400mAh battery running Windows Phone 7 and we’ve seen a video of the HTC Schubert being close to the Mozart that makes us believe it’s the same device, only that one would be a variation of the other (maybe for the US and European markets). The HTC Bee and HTC Lexikon were rumored to be two future Android devices running Froyo with the Bee on the lower QVGA end and a 512 Mhz processor and the Lexikon sporting a WVGA 3.8 inch display and an 800 Mhz processor.
Then, we were excited to see pictures of the HTC Vision/Vanguard, a QWERTY slide-out keyboard Android device which was at that time rumored to sport dual core processor and later on we’ve seen two pictures of the HTC Paradise and Fiesta, both for AT&T. About the Paradise we believe it might be a Vision variant while about the Fiesta all we know is that it will come with a 3.2 MP camera.
Last but not least, yesterday we heard about four new codenames for HTC Speedy, HTC Blitz, HTC Mecha and HTC Spade. Nothing is known so far about these devices, it’s just the names yet, but they’re rumored to be running Android. The Blitz would supposedly be a CDMA device and since all we’ve got are some codenames, we might think, judging by the names given, that the Blitz could be a fast device running maybe a processor over 1GHz and the Speedy to be a variant of some kind for the non CDMA markets. With the word Mecha describing – according to Wikipedia, a pilot controlled bipedal combat machine with arms, hands, and usually fingers capable of grasping objects, we might speculate it will have a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and as far as the Spade is concerned, it might be a classic device oriented towards the business phone consumer market.
Nevertheless, if only half of the rumors are true, we will surely see five new HTC devices pretty soon – we’re talking HTC Mozart/Schubert, HTC Desire HD, HTC Bee and HTC Spark – and we’re quite excited about it! Which one of these do you think will be most likely to hit the markets any time soon (Q4 2010 – Q1 2011)?
