Motorola Droid X Android 2.2 Froyo Update Coming September

While Motorola and Verizon Wireless have only alluded to a “late summer” release for the Droid X to get its Android 2.2 Froyo update, the company is now pushing the window to sometime in September, citing difficulties with Exchange support. For those waiting for the promised speed improvements that Froyo is expected to bring as well as Adobe Flash 10.1 support, early September is just around the corner and hopefully, without further delays, we’ll see Froyo smoothly functioning on the large-screened Android phone.

If Exchange 2003 issues are cropping up and the Droid 2 rumored to come out the gate with Froyo, we’re wondering if there may also be a delay in the launch of Motorola’s successor to the successful initial Droid 1.
