Windows Phone 7 Supports Opening ZIP Files

Here’s a nice find from one of our readers! “c120p” has noticed that the Windows Phone 7 emulator is actually able to open ZIP files that you may click on from a website. A window will appear asking if you want to open the Zip file, then a new window will show the contents of the Zip file. If any of the files are of formats that are supported by the operating system, you’ll be able to open those as well. Unfortunately it looks like there is no native support for viewing PDFs and it would seem that kind of thing is something that would need to be built into the operating system. Hopefully PDF viewing support will come soon!
