Skype updated for iOS 4, Now Offering Real Background VoIP

We need to add a sort of a “finally” tag on this one. Skype has finally made their iOS 4 update official (about a month late) and yes,.. this one does offer background VoIP calls just like they promised months ago. Aside from this feature, chats work in the background, graphics are now enhanced for the iPhone 4’s retina display and no, there is still no video calling for iPhone 4 owners. Sadly this update is not fun and games for everyone since Multi-tasking is only supported for iPhone 3Gs and iPhone 4 users. iPhone 3G and 1st Generation iPhone owners need to stay in the application if they want things to continue working.

Remember Skype to Skype calls over 3G are still being supported for free until the end of the year, so hop onto iTunes and enjoy!
