Sony Ericsson X10 Mini Hardware Overview (Video)

In this next video, we explore the hardware of the Sony Ericsson X10 Mini. With a capacitive screen measuring only 2.5″ and a resolution of 240 x 320, the X10 Mini is surely a unique device. Sony set out to design a smartphone that could be used by anyone, while being very affordable and easy to use.

Weighing in at only 3.11oz, the X10 Mini weighs almost half of the HTC EVO 4G (6oz). While it is thicker than many of today’s smartphones, it is easy to forget that is in in your pocket. The X10 Mini is also Bluetooth 2.0 capable, has built in WiFi, and has a MicroSD Card slot allowing the user to increase memory capacity.

By setting the price point of this Android device at $325, Sony has made the device affordable to many more consumers. However, the low price-point does not come without sacrifice. The processor has a clock speed of 600mhz (which runs fairly well with Sony’s custom UI), and, is only capable of reading up to a 16GB MicroSD Card. Depending on your viewpoint, the internal, non-removable battery may also be a shortcoming.
