Motorola Generous to Droid Owners with Another OS Update
Usually, you’ll have to beg and plead with your device manufacturer to get an upgrade to the most current operating system on the market, but Motorola is being particularly generous with customers who have bought the Motorola Droid for Verizon Wireless. The device originally shipped with Android 2.0 and subsequently saw an OS update to Android 2.1. Now, Motorola, according to leaked internal documents, will be issuing yet another major OS upgrade for the original Droid bringing Android 2.2 to the device. The Android Froyo build will also bring Flash 10.1 Mobile from Adobe to the Droid. Android 2.2 for the original Droid is scheduled for July.
While the original Droid launched as a Google experience phone that lacks any sort of skinning or additional carrier customizations, there is no telling if Motorola will introduce its new MOTOBLUR UI that was part of the Droid X launch.
