Battery Life Initial Impressions on the Motorola Droid X for Verizon Wireless

We’ve gotten the day to play with the Motorola Droid X–announced today by Verizon Wireless and due in stores on July 15th–and we’ll post videos in the coming days. However, we wanted to give a brief update on battery life of the monstrous 4.3-inch capacitive multitouch Android tablet form factor smartphone from Motorola. The Droid X uses a 1500 mAh battery, which is larger than the 1400 mAh battery on the Verizon Wireless Motorola Droid. Verizon and Motorola had said that battery life should be comparable on the two devices–the Droid is a battery champ and our experiences show that the Motorola Droid X manages about the same battery life, or even slightly longer than even the Droid. This should boast well for Verizon Wireless and Motorola, whose Droid X is positioned squarely at both the iPhone and the Sprint EVO 4G–it has the latter’s screen size and multimedia features but lacks Sprint’s 4G radio.
