Microsoft Rumored to Be Working on IM Integration with KIN

Microsoft is rumored to be adding instant messaging services to its KIN Windows Phone models. The social media-centric, youth-targeted mobile phones had integration with popular social networks, but lacked IM support–a feature that was part of the Danger Sidekick experience. According to Conflipper on Engadget, Yahoo! Messenger, Live Messenger, and AOL/AIM support will be forthcoming.

The news that IM integration would be coming to KIN wouldn’t be too far fetched considering that the KIN team had told us that they are continuously looking at ways to improve the KIN experience and that upgrades can be pushed out to KIN One and KIN Two models over the air. Although KIN doesn’t support third-party apps, Microsoft had committed to bringing features and upgrades direct to the consumer when such features make sense.
