AT&T Limits HTC Aria to Android Market Apps

For the HTC Aria, to be released next week in the US by the carrier, AT&T is doing what it did with its initial Android release, Motorola Backflip, by limiting the phone to only downloadable applications on Android Market. With Google’s open-source Android operating system, Google gave carriers the option to impose certain restrictions on its branded handset, and in this case AT&T had decide to not allow unsigned applications be loaded onto the device. Users can still install third party applications, but in this instance it must come from whatever is available on Android Market that’s compatible with the Aria.
