Samsung Galaxy S To Be Launched in 110 Countries
The Samsung Galaxy S–arguably the most powerful smartphone to date at the time of its announcement at CTIA–may see a simultaneous global launch that will make the handset available in 110 countries. There have been speculations that the device could appear on T-Mobile and a device with a code of i897 has been spotted for AT&T. The Galaxy S is also rumored to be appearing on all four major US carriers.
We’re not sure if Samsung could meet demand in launching in all 110 countries at the same time with supplies and part constraints. Devices using AMOLED screens–such as the Droid Incredible and the Nexus One–have been delayed because the screens are not meeting demand. However, the Galaxy S uses a Super AMOLED display technology and it’s unclear if the Super AMOLED displays are based on AMOLED manufacturing processes and if those screens are subject to the same constraints as the AMOLED displays.
