Next-Generation Motorola Droid Spotted for Verizon Wireless With Beefier Specs

It looks like Verizon Wireless and Motorola are going to be offering a beefier version of the Motorola Droid in a forthcoming release if the early leaks are true. The new Droid successor will sport a larger 4.1-inch capacitive touchscreen display along with HDMI output (like the Sprint HTC EVO 4G), and a faster processor than its predecessor. It looks like a newer, cleaner version of MOTO BLUR is included with this release as well as an upgraded camera that can now snap stills at 8-megapixel and record videos in 720p HD resolution. This time around it seems that the sliding QWERTY gets tossed out in favor of the larger touchscreen and thin chassis.

The specs include:

-4.1″ TFT FWVGA screen

-720 MHz Texas Instruments OMAP 3630 Processor

-2GB -8GB internal memory

-Android 2.1 (Eclair), possibly 2.2 (Froyo) upon launch

-8 MP camera with 720p video recording

-1080p output via HDMI port

-Roughly 9mm in thickness
