If you’re one of the many who has a HTC Sprint Hero and are stuck with Android 1.5, you probably were a bit frustrated with the last missed release date. As far as we can tell, this may be the ROM that was sent back to HTC on May 7th.

Rumor has it, the reason Sprint “rejected” the ROM was because some “advanced features” were included that Sprint wanted stripped out. Of course this based on rumor and conjecture, and Sprint is keeping quiet.

In any event, if you want try out this leaked ROM, this is what you’ll need:

– A functional HTC Sprint Hero

– A computer (I used a Windows 7 machine)

– A USB to Mini-USB cable

– The HTC Sync software (for all the drivers)

The leaked ROM

– About 45 minutes and some patience
