webOS Hacked to Run OpenOffice, Linux Apps

The Palm webOS operating system has been hacked to be able to run OpenOffice and many Linux apps, as a proof of concept. The hack was demoed on the Palm Pre and opens the webOS platform up more. webOS still trails behind the iPhone and Google’s Android operating system in the number of available apps available through Palm’s official app market, called Palm App Catalog.
