Since the beginning of mobile games there has always been a consensus that mobile games are just not that good. No matter how you break it down games on phones were only there to waste time. People do not look to their phones as an entertaining way of playing graphic enriched games. We all would choose to use our PCs, Playstations, Xboxs, Wiis, Macs and even handheld gaming systems before playing a game on a phone.

Today Microsoft (MSFT) has recently released the integration of the Windows Phone 7 Series with their Xbox LIVE services. The games hub delivers the first and only official Xbox LIVE experience on a phone, including Xbox LIVE games, Spotlight feed and the ability to see a gamer’s avatar, achievements and gamer profile. With more than 23 million active members around the world, Xbox LIVE unlocks a world of friends, games and entertainment on Xbox 360, and now also on Windows Phone 7 Series.

Xbox LIVE integration may be the biggest surprise to the new operating system by redeveloping what a mobile game is and not just a way to gobble up time. With the combination of both the Xbox LIVE and the Zune UI there may even be a way to stream other Xbox LIVE services such as Netflix and the Xbox LIVE Marketplace.
