HTC Style Skin for Swype Keyboard

Swype is an amazing software keyboard that comes preloaded on the Verizon branded Samsung Omnia II. If you haven’t had a chance to see its innovative method of text input in action, check out Brandon’s video. The black and blue skin of the keyboard is fitting for the Omnia II because of its matching black UI, however, users running Swype on other devices may prefer a less bold looking keyboard to match their interface.

Baly23, over at XDA-developers, has decided to create a skin that is more in tune with HTC devices. You can see a comparison between the default black skin and the HTC style skin in the screenshots above. The HTC-like skin is available for most resolutions and covers all faces of the Swype keyboard, including in landscape mode. You’ll need to have Swype installed before applying the skin via CAB file.

Note: should you decide to remove the skin, you will have to uninstall it and then uninstall/reinstall Swype to return to default.
