SPB Software Releases App for Learning Languages
SPB Software has released a new app for learning foreign languages on your Windows phone. SPB Flash Cards 1.0 is essentially a vocabulary learning tool that uses virtual flash cards as the main method of training. Available languages include: Czech, German, English, Spanish, French, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Dutch, Portuguese, Chinese and Swedish.
The app is very finger friendly and easy to use. The main screen for each language displays a list of categories and the amount of cards found within them. Each language includes 1000+ words in 65 different categories. There are five different learning modes and a smart algorithm in place to help facilitate the learning process. Statistics are also recorded for your convenience. Every card provides a picture, text and a sound clip for that particular word. When testing out the Japanese cards, I was happy to see that the correct words were chosen and that they used a native speaker. This ensures that you learn every word with correct pronunciation. The categories cover many general words that may come in handy when traveling abroad.
SPB Flash Cards is available now for $9.95. As with most SPB apps, there’s a trial available for each language. It should work on most touchscreen Windows phones running Windows Mobile 5 or higher.
