Then and Now: HD and HD2 Compared

It was about a year ago when we saw the release of the HTC Touch HD. The device received a tremendous amount of buzz thanks to a slick design and that gorgeous 3.8″ screen. It never made a release to the US, though some argue that the HTC Imagio is somewhat of the US equivalent.

As we await the official retail release of the HD2 and our subsequent video and review coverage (we’ve got TONS planned), we thought we’d take a look at back at the mighty HD and see how it compares to the HD2. Click on for more.

In every respective except for two areas, the HD2 is better than the HD2. The first of these areas is battery capacity, with the HD2 packing 1230mAh, 120mAh less than the HD. We figure that HTC has done a good enough job with battery optimization so that this is a non-issue. Additionally, the HD2 is taller and wider than the HD, though from what we’ve heard from people that have spent time with pre-production units, the device still fits comfortably in pocket.
