The Touch HD and the Acer neoTouch are similar devices. They both have 3.8″ WVGA screens and they both have the same form factor. Where they differ is what’s on the inside, with the neoTouch packing the tasty 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250 CPU, and the Touch HD sporting the processor found commonly on most of HTC’s current-generation devices, the Qualcomm MSM7201A clocking in at 528MHz.

In the review of the Acer neoTouch, we showed you through videos and benchmarks just how fast the Snapdragon is. We concluded that in day to day operation, the Snapdragon makes the neoTouch fast, but how about in video performance?

The below graphics show a CorePlayer benchmark of an HD movie trailer tested on both the Touch HD and neoTouch. The results are obvious in the numbers: the neoTouch wins by a far margin. During playback, the HD video played smoothly on the neoTouch, but was choppy on the Touch HD.
