Still a not a lot is known about Windows Mobile 7, except that there will be a “Chassis 1” requirement that will be more multimedia-centric and that the smartphone OS will be released in 2010 sometime. However, we do know that Microsoft will not be creating its own branded smartphone. Rather, the Redmond, Washington software company will work closely with device manufacturers to bring Windows Phones running Windows Mobile 7 to the market. Mainly, HTC and Acer have been named as Windows Mobile 7 OEMs.

With Palm dedicating its efforts to webOS and Motorola going Android, we’re wondering if those two will remain a Windows Mobile licensee beyond the Treo Pro and Moto Q9h.
