Samsung Omnia II i8000 Software Tour

In this video we give you a closer look at the Omnia 2’s TouchWiz interface, which goes quite deep.

Each and every menu is skinned with the high contrast white-on-black theme, which really takes advantage of the AMOLED display. The entire interface is well optimized for finger-friendly operation, which is a good thing considering that the device doesn’t have an inbuilt stylus.

We find that while the new Omnia has a variety of program launcher options, some of them are a novelty, like the rotating cube and Palm Pre-like task switcher. Speaking of task switching, after I filmed this video, I found an option to force programs to close using the X button, as found on most modern HTC device. Since the Omnia II doesn’t have a huge amount of RAM, this is a good option to enable.

If you missed it, we’ve posted our full review of the Omnia II.
