Samsung Omnia II Unboxing

Don’t be fooled…while the Omnia II shares the name of the first-generation Omnia, they have little in common. If you want a spec-to-spec comparison, check out this chart.

The Omnia II packs a 3.7″ WVGA display (that’s 800×480) that is using AMOLED screen technology. The processor is running at 800MHz, and the device packs 256MB RAM and 8GB of storage ROM. In terms of wireless radios, it has WiFi (b & g), aGPS, FM Radio, plus UMTS 900/1900/2100, meaning that you may be able to get 3G on AT&T in certain areas that use those bands.

Other goodies include a 5.0MP camera with flash and autofocus, microSD memory expansion, a 3.5mm headphone jack, an accelerometer for screen rotation, and a proximity sensor for power saving while on a call. Powering everything is a 1500mAh battery.

We’ll be back with more soon on the Omnia II!
