How To Record Phone Calls on Touch Pro/Diamond
A lot of HTC users have been missing the ability to record phone calls while in a call (without having to use speakerphone). The ability to do this can be a time saver, especially when your significant other sends you on a grocery run with a list of items–you can quickly record that part of the conversation.
The great folks at XDA-Developers are at it again, porting the in-call recording functions from the Touch HD to the HTC Fuze and Touch Pro. The installer also works with the Touch Diamond.
The version for the Diamond–also compatible with the Touch Pro if the above version doesn’t work–requires the newer slide to answer phone dialer. The picture at the bottom of this post illustrates that dialer you should have–it shows the screen when a calls come in and you can slide one way to accept and slide the other way to reject the call. If you don’t have that specific version of the dialer, it should be downloaded before you install the phone recording cab.
If everything installs correctly, while in a call, if you hit the right softkey, you should see a menu option that says “Start Recording.”
As always, please follow the laws in your area regarding the recording of any phone conversations. Local, state, and federal laws apply and it may be illegal to record a call without the other party’s knowledge.
