Detailed Specs of the Asus Galaxy 7

Just a few days ago, a Russian site reviewed the upcoming Asus Galaxy 7, which is being touted as an “Omnia killer.”

Well, PDAdb.net has uploaded a full spec sheet. We learn that the Galaxy 7 is running on the same Qualcomm CPU as the XPERIA X1, at a 528MHz clock speed (the Omnia uses a Marvell chip running at 624MHz). It comes with 4GB of storage ROM (much less than the Omnia’s 8GB and 16GB), and has 256MB of RAM (the Omnia has 128MB). The screen is a generous 3.5″ (just .3″ shy of the Touch HD, and .3″ bigger than the Omnia), and sports WVGA resolution, so 800 down and 480 across (the Omnia only has WQVGA resolution, so 400 down and 240 across). It’s a triband GSM device with just one band of UMTS, meaning that in the US, you’ll be lucky to get by with EDGE cellular data. It does WiFi, aGPS, has a nice 5.0MP camera on back, and a VGA camera in the front. Powering it all is a 1100mAh battery, which seems small, especially compared to the 1440mAh battery on the Omnia. See the comparison chart for a closer look.
