HTC Touch HD Software Tour

In this video, we take a look at the software on the Touch HD.

TouchFLO 3D has been slightly modified for the Touch HD (it’s actually the same version that we showed on the XPERIA X1), with the addition of the stocks tab and ability to customize tabs and turn them off.

Most of the software included on the Touch HD is similar to the other new Touch devices. There is a new version of Opera that has a zoom slider, but doesn’t have Flash support or the 3D tab switcher as we saw on the Touch HD prototype.

We also go over the on-screen input methods, since the Touch HD doesn’t have a hardware keyboard. You’re presented with the same three keyboards that come on the Diamond and Touch Pro (T9-style, SureType, and full QWERTY). Diamond and Touch Pro users will tell you that after some practice, you can become pretty skilled at entering text using these keyboards. And because the screen is larger than the two aforementioned devices, you have more surface area to work with.

We’ll soon have the full review for the Touch HD, plus an interesting comparison video between the Touch HD and the Touch Pro that will give you a better feel for how the two devices compare it terms of screen resolution and performance. If you want more Touch HD, check out the hardware tour and unboxing.
