BlackBerry’s Touchscreen Keyboard as Scary as Thunder

Although the on-screen keyboard of the new BlackBerry Thunder sounds good on paper, it is still not even near ready for primetime. The screen ripples when pressed, the interface lags, and response time is slow.

It is also interesting to know from The Boy Genius Report that RIM actually placed clickable buttons on the screen corners:

Our guy, when talking about haptic feedback, said that the screen “clicks.” We were informed there are “buttons” on each corner, so when you press the screen, you might feel one click, two clicks, or four simultaneously. We’re told these four independant buttons actually press, so you do “click” the screen.

Hopefully Research in Motion will be able to resolve the issues for the men in suits. Corporate users comprise a majority of BlackBerry users.
