A Look at How Photo Caller ID Has Changed in Windows Mobile

Mike Temporale from Smartphone Thoughts has put together an article that tracks the changes to the WM Smartphone caller ID screen from version 2003 to 6. In WM 2003, there was no image and just a number. In WM 5.0, we finally saw a picture of the caller, but it was very small, about the size of a pinky fingernail. In WM 6, finally, the images are larger, but Mike still thinks there is room for improvement along the lines of caller ID screen templates.

Which makes me wonder why WM doesn’t have full screen caller images pop up when a call comes through. Is it a matter of resources? Surely displaying a picture it’s that hardware intensive.
