April Fools — Pocket Pear PC Nearly Ported
In a stunning announcement the Pear PC development team announced that they are mostly successful in porting the Pear PC project, which allows Macintosh applications to run on a Windows desktop, over to Pocket PC. “Since Pocket PC is based on Windows, it wasn’t that hard.” said Andreas Braun of Pear PC. “The great thing is, that because Pocket PC OS is considerably more streamlined than Windows OS, Macintosh applications actually run faster on a Pocket PC.”
The only downside of the port is that, even with a HiDPI (VGA resolution) screen, the text and graphics can be a bit small.
